New York State Homes and Community Renewal played a significant role in bringing McGraw House to reality, and they continue to play an important role in supervising policies and procedures.

Applicants must be at least 62 years of age and income eligible. Preference is given to eligible US Veterans, or surviving spouses, living in New York State; copy of DD214 required.

Minimal monthly rents are required, which may increase according to a person’s financial resources. There is a range of rents to meet different income levels and current rent figures are listed below. Utilities are included in the rent. Monthly rents are subject to periodic increases. You can request either size apartment, though couples have priority for one bedroom apartments. Renting a studio apartment first is the fastest way to move into the building. However, after moving in, any resident can transfer (for a fee) from a studio to a one bedroom apartment, or to another apartment more to their liking.

We always have a waiting list for apartments. The length of wait varies greatly and is dependent on many factors. We would be happy to schedule an interview and give you a tour of our facilities. To place your name on the waiting list, please contact us for an application packet which may be obtained at the office or requested through the mail by calling 607-272-7054. TDD users can call 1-800-662-1220.
